An updated proposal to renovate the home of the University of Iowa baseball team is on the docket for consideration and final approval by the Iowa Board of Regents. The proposed renovation to Duane Banks Field includes a standalone clubhouse adjacent to the existing Hawkeye dugout. The 2,365-square-foot clubhouse would be constructed along the first base side of the stadium and extend down the right field line. The renovation is budgeted at $5.5 million and is expected to be completed in spring 2025. In addition to the clubhouse, new lights and turf will be installed this summer. The project would be funded by athletic department gifts and revenue.

The University of Iowa College of Engineering’s IIHR—Hydroscience & Engineering is a world-renowned program, and a proposed facility expansion would keep Iowa at the forefront of fluids-related research. The UI is seeking approval from the Iowa Board of Regents at its April 24-25 meeting to proceed with planning the construction of a new building on the Oakdale campus for future growth and development of the IIHR hydroscience program.

The FM Strategic Communications team is excited to announce the completion of the Facilities Management website redesign project. The site launched officially on Monday, April 15. This updated version brings our branding and accessibility functions in line with other recently updated websites across the university, reflecting a campus-wide initiative. Additionally, the new user-friendly web editing platform allows us to showcase the FM organization more effectively.

The University of Iowa was recently honored with the 2023 Tree Campus Higher Education Award at the Annual Community Forestry Awards Luncheon in Ankeny. The award was presented by the Arbor Day Foundation and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources April 4th at the FFA Enrichment Center in Ankeny.
