Reason and details for closure/impact

The Wendell Johnson Speech and Hearing Center will be razed from Monday, Sept. 14, through the end of December.

The Hawkins Drive sidewalk from approximately the Center for Disabilities and Development entrance road to the intersection at Evashevski Drive will be closed Monday at 6 a.m. through Friday at 2 p.m. Each weekend, the sidewalk will be reopened. Pedestrians should follow posted signage to east around the project area to sidewalk along Hospital Loop Drive.

Employees and patients are encouraged to use alternative entrances for a faster route to the hospital.

One lane of Hawkins Drive may be closed during portions of the work through December. North- and southbound traffic will still be accommodated on Hawkins Drive, and drivers are advised to use an alternative route to the hospital if they would like to avoid the lane closure.
