Reason and details for closure/impact
The sidewalk along the south side of Hillcrest will be closed while Terracon conducts soil boring near the top of the east hillside. A boring machine will drill into the hillside above the failing retaining walls to assess soil conditions for future repairs. Equipment and vehicles will access the site, and machinery noise is expected during drilling. The sidewalk sees minimal use and work will be completed before students return.

Accessible routes to Hillcrest Hall will not be impacted, use the accessible entrance on the west side of Hillcrest Hall.
Alternate route
An alternative route to lower Hillcrest Hall is available on the sidewalk system that follows Byington Road northward along the west side of the building, turning east between upper Hillcrest and Parking Lot 13, then following southward to the stairs.
