Lynn Basa
Lynn Basa has an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, an MPA from the University of Washington, and a BA from Indiana University. Her practice encompasses painting, public art, and The Corner Project, a community-based project focused on three blocks of Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago’s Avondale neighborhood. She is the author of The Artist’s Guide to Public Art and has taught in the Sculpture department at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has completed numerous public commissions including most recently in Rhode Island, Chicago, Illinois and Salt Lake City, Utah.
To create The Brain in the Mirror, Basa worked with Mosaika, a design & manufacturing company with a fresh new take on the ancient art of mosaic making. Founded in 1998, the company’s headquarters are in Montreal, Canada. They state that the emphasis of the company combines a modern aesthetic with exquisite craftsmanship.
