Reason and details for closure/impact
Phase 3: This closure is necessary to install new storm sewer piping and structures servicing the Arena Ramp and adjacent parking areas. The construction area will be shifted to close the patient parking lot west of the Dental Science Building. Patient parking will be available in the lot southwest of the Dental Science Building, accessible from Hawkins Drive. Additionally, patients can use the patient drop-off circle for easy access to the Main and West Entrances of the Dental Science Building.
Concurrently, Elliott Drive will be reduced to one lane, with two-way traffic maintained using flaggers and temporary signals. For more details on the impact of that closure, view the associated Access and Construction alert here: https://facilities.uiowa.edu/alert/8591

Accessible route
To access the Dental Science Building, use the new patient drop-off circle accessible from Newton Road. Powered door entry is available at the Main and West Entrances of the building.
Alternate route
Patients may use the patient parking lots located to the southwest of the Dental Science Building (accessible from Hawkins Drive) and use sidewalks on the west side of the Dental Science Building to access the building.
