September 24 update: The contractor's schedule has been postponed to accommodate Homecoming activities downtown. Work is expected to continue next week.
Utility fiber crew will be boring in a new line under the sidewalk along the east side of Dubuque Street between Jefferson Street and Iowa Avenue. The crew will be fencing off sections to remove sidewalk panels for this activity. Pedestrian traffic will still have adequate space to pass by outside the fenced in area. Access to Van Allen Hall and Biology Building East will not be impacted.

Foot traffic will remain open outside the fenced in areas.
Alternate route
The sidewalk on the west side of north Dubuque Street will not be affected by this activity. Pedestrian traffic may cross over at both ends of the block to avoid the area if desired.
