CORRECTION: An earlier version of this alert was erroneously titled "City of Iowa City - Dubuque Street between Washington and Jefferson streets." The affected street is Clinton Street. Dubuque Street will remain open. 

Downtown events will require the closure of Clinton Street between Washington and Jefferson streets. Both Washington and Jefferson streets will remain open to traffic during this closure.

Additionally, the 100 Block of Iowa Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic during this event.

Iowa City Transit impacts

Beginning Sept. 29, the 6-Peninsula, 7-North Dodge, 10-West Iowa City, and 11-Rochester Iowa City Transit routes will detour due to the Clinton Street closure. A full list of detours and impacted stops can be found on the City's website.

Normal Transit service will resume on Monday, Oct. 5, 2026, and streets will be reopened to regular traffic.

Cambus impacts

Clinton Street, between Jefferson Street and Washington Street will be closed September 29 through October 4, 2026 due to an event. Cambus routes 31, 35, 36, 42, 43, 52 will detour. The Clinton and Iowa and Pappajohn Business Building (PBB) stops will be closed. For more information on bus route changes, visit the Parking and Transportation website.

Affected CAMBUS routes will resume normal service on Monday, October 5.
