This closure is necessary to safely position a lift in the left eastbound lane of Jefferson Street to access and repair a third‑floor window on the south side of the Pappajohn Business Building. The lift and work zone will restrict the bike lane, a portion of the left eastbound lane, and a small area of the north sidewalk near 68 Jefferson Street, near the intersection with Clinton Street.

Pedestrians traveling along the sidewalk on the north side of the street will follow posted signage directing them to cross Jefferson Street at either the Anne Cleary Walkway or the intersection of Clinton Street and Jefferson Street. After crossing, pedestrians may continue along the south sidewalk, which remains fully open during the closure.

Cyclists will merge into the open right lane. Vehicles will continue in the right eastbound lane. Barricades will be placed around the lift and work area.
