Reason and details for closure/impact
Engie contractors will close the sidewalk on the east side of Hawkins Road from Wendell Johnson Speech and Hearing Center to the Center for Disabilities and Development. A temporary, ADA-compliant sidewalk will be installed to the east for access to Center for Disabilities and Development. This closure will enable the tie in of new steam piping to Chilled Water Plant #2.
In conjunction with this closure, the City of Iowa City will move the city bus stop from near the entrance of Center for Disabilities and Development to near the parking area south of Wendell Johnson Speech and Hearing Center.
This closure is expected to last 5 weeks.
